Clear Guidance on Sector Trends

In April 2006, YouGovExecution (YGX) surveyed 40,000 people to find consumers that had used, were using or intended to use ‘self-storage’, for a fund considering investing in one of the sector’s players. We then undertook a detailed survey of the identified sample to understand the dynamics of the self storage market. The study supported an investment decision, based on:

• Strong and accelerating sector growth
• Fragmented market, ripe for consolidation
• Opportunities to cross-sell a range of related services
• Clear consumer needs: security, convenience, value, location
